Traylor Fertilizer in Montgomery, Indiana has had TSM® plots for seven years on corn and soybeans. They have tested the TSM® program against the Tri-State recommendations, and against a conventional program of 100 lbs DAP/acre and 200 lbs potash/acre applied prior to the corn and nothing applied to the soybeans. The TSM® and Tri-State recommendations were used for both the corn and soybean crops. The following table shows the corn and soybean yields for each year and the mean over seven years. This year in the corn plots the TSM® and Tri-State tied with yields of 202 bu/acre. The conventional plots came in quite a ways lower with 190 bu/acre. The corn plots over the seven years show TSM® on top with an average yield of 172 bu/acre followed by Tri-State then conventional. The soybeans this year produced a high of 46 bu/acre on TSM®, 45 bu/acre with Tri-State recommendations and 43 bu/acre on conventional. Over the seven years, TSM® averaged 50 bu/acre with Tri-State coming in second and the conventional program last. |
